Oklahoma summers provide some of the best opportunities for motorcycle riders. In addition to the long days and sunshine, you’ll find many motorcycle events throughout the state, including bike rallies, bike runs, and shows. The Oklahoma motorcycle accident lawyers at McIntyre Law are encouraged by these events taking place because so many of them are for charitable causes.
Involved in many community projects ourselves, we encourage all Oklahoma motorcycle riders to take a look at the upcoming events in the state to see which ones you may be interested in.
To help you in your search, be sure to check out this website, which provides a comprehensive listing of various types of events throughout the summer, and the rest of the year. Many of these events are “poker runs,” where motorcycle riders typically drive to various checkpoints and draw a playing card at each one.
Just like a typical poker game, the object is to have the best poker hand at the end of the run. Of course, while it’s nice to win the prizes awarded for having the top hands, the main point of these runs is to raise money for charity. If you’d like to participate in a poker run, you have several date and location options:
Also, June 18 is Ride to Work Day, where everyone with a motorcycle is encouraged to drive their bike to work. Ride to Work is a 501(c)(4) non-profit organization that advocates and supports the use of bikes as a means of transportation. Overall, the purpose of this day is to promote the utility of motorcycle riding.
When you are out riding this summer please be safe and ride with caution.
