Accident News on May 21, 2019
Cotton County, OK (May 21, 2019) – On Tuesday, May 21, Oklahoma Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident near State Highway 53 and County Road 2690.
According to reports, 27-year-old H.D. Smith was traveling along the roadway in a 2006 Nissan Sentra when 30-year-old Donald I. Mouser made an improper right turn in a 2010 Mack garbage truck in front of him.
Mouser crossed into the westbound lanes in an attempt to make an eastbound turn, causing Smith’s vehicle to collide with the garbage truck.
Smith’s Sentra spun around and came to rest in the westbound lane of the roadway. Emergency crews spent two and a half hours trying to extract Smith from his vehicle with the Hurst tool.
Smith succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
