Accident News on May 23, 2019
Elgin, OK (May 23, 2019) – On May 22, just after 11 a.m., Oklahoma Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on US Highway 62.
According to reports, a pickup truck slowed in the roadway to make a right turn onto Cherry Street when a semi-truck crossed the center line into the southbound lane and struck a car head-on.
The driver of the car, later identified as 21-year-old Alfredo Gamez, was pronounced deceased at the scene of the incident. Gamez’s 12-year-old passenger sustained critical injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
The cause of the incident remains under investigation at this time.
