Kingfisher, OK (May 29, 2019) – Around 12:30 p.m. on May 28, Oklahoma Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a pedestrian accident.
According to reports, 23-year-old Dakota Eugene Welch was traveling along a train track in Kingfisher, while listening to headphones, when he was struck by an oncoming train. The impact of the collision threw Welch a short distance from the tracks.
The train continued down the tracks for a short distance before stopping. Welch was injured in the incident and transported to OU Med in Oklahoma City view mediflight.
