Accident News on April 26, 2019
Oklahoma City, OK (April 26, 2019) – On Friday, April 26, Oklahoma City Fire Department responded to a serious accident in the 6000 block of S Cimarron Road.
According to OKCPD, a semi-truck driver was traveling near the intersection of S Cimarron Road and SW 59th Street when a dog ran out in front of the vehicle. The driver applied his brakes, causing a metal beam to crash through the cab.
Firefighters spent several hours trying to remove the driver from the vehicle while working around the metal beam. They were finally able to remove him from the vehicle and transport him to an area hospital via medical helicopter.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the injured driver and his family at this time. We hope that he will be able to make a full recovery from his injuries.
Every year, hundreds of individuals are injured in semi-truck accidents across Oklahoma. Unfortunately, even single-vehicle crashes can result in extremely serious injuries. This is especially true in cases where semi-truck trailers are improperly loaded.
There are numerous cases in which drivers of semi-trucks place their trust in loaders, who are too quick to ensure safety precautions are made. When loads are not properly secured, it can result in devastating injuries for drivers and others on the roadway. In cases where victims are injured due to improperly loaded trailers, they can contact an Oklahoma truck accident attorney to protect their legal rights.
