Accident News on May 30, 2019
Oklahoma City, OK (May 30, 2019) – On Monday, May 29th, volunteer firefighter Nicholas Brown was on his way home from work when he spotted a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 35, near SE 29th Street.
Mr. Brown exited his vehicle and attempted to help the victims of the crash. As Brown walked over toward their vehicle, he was struck by a motor vehicle himself. Nicholas Brown’s pelvis was broken in three places during the incident.
Brown was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment. At this time, we are unsure of the condition of the victims involved in the first collision.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Nicholas Brown and his family at this time.
As the warmer weather kicks in full gear, we are seeing an increase in the number of pedestrians outside. Although traveling by foot is a much healthier option for transportation, it does not guarantee those who engage in the activity are always safe from harm.
Unfortunately, pedestrians are at an increased risk for sustaining serious injuries in motor vehicle accidents. When victims are injured in pedestrian accidents, they may be entitled to restitution to help alleviate the costs for medical treatment, lost wages, and other damages incurred in their accidents. It is crucial that victims contact a pedestrian accident attorney in Oklahoma as soon as possible to protect their legal rights.
