Oklahoma City, OK (May 14, 2019) – On May 12th, police and emergency crews responded to the scene of a pedestrian accident on Northeast 10th Street.
The accident occurred during the evening hours of May 12th, when Matthew Overs was walking along Northeast 10th Street. Overs, who was wearing dark clothing while walking in a poorly lit area, was struck by a car along the roadway near Interstate 35.
After the initial impact, Overs was thrown over the car and landed in the roadway. Overs attempted to get up from the road when he was struck for the second time by a truck. The truck continued to drive, running a red light, to flee the scene of the incident.
Overs sustained numerous broken bones and other serious injuries in the collision and was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
