Accident News on April 29, 2019
Oklahoma City, OK (April 29, 2019) – On Saturday, April 27, Oklahoma City Police learned about a hit and run incident in the area of NW 10th and MacArthur.
According to police, an officer was in the area on a traffic stop when a female walked up to him covered in blood. The woman stated that she was struck by a car and that her friend was as well.
The woman reported that her friend sustained a severe leg injury in the incident. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene, but the two victims had a good description of the vehicle for officers.
The two women were transported to an area hospital for medical treatment to injuries sustained in the incident. The driver, later identified as Theresha Abrams, was later arrested for DUI and assault stemming from the accident.
Our thoughts are with the two women injured in this incident and their families. We hope that both people are able to make a full recovery from the injuries sustained in this pedestrian accident.
Numerous people are victimized in pedestrian accidents across Oklahoma every year. Unfortunately, being outside of a motor vehicle in a traffic incident places victims at greater risk of sustaining broken bones and other serious injuries.
Victims who are struck by negligent, reckless, or careless drivers should contact an Oklahoma pedestrian accident attorney as soon as possible. Although filing a legal claim against the at-fault driver will not help to alleviate the pain victims experience, it can help provide them justice and restitution to cover medical expenses, lost wages, and various other damages.
