Press Release: McIntyre Law’s 3rd Annual Day of Kindness

Published on November 20, 2012

This month Lawyers against hunger will be donating over 5,000 turkeys over four sites, and has raised over $70,000 towards the goal of feeding hungry Oklahomans state-wide. As part of Lawyers Against Hunger, McIntyre Law has been fortunate enough to grow this event each year, and with that growth, help even more families in need. In 2010 LAH raised enough to allow for the distribution of 700 food boxes in Oklahoma City, and 300 in Tulsa. In 2011, we surpassed the previous year’s goal, permitting the distribution of 1000 turkeys in Oklahoma City, 1000 turkeys in Tulsa, and 700 turkeys at a 3rd location in Norman at David Bernstein’s office. This year in connection with the Oklahoma Association for Justice, local businesses, individuals, and community organizations, we are determined to make this event even bigger; on November 14, 2012, McIntyre Law be donating turkeys in Oklahoma City for the Third Annual Day of Kindness.

McIntyre Law's 3rd Annual Day of Kindness

Lawyers Against Hunger, Inc. was formed as a 501(C)(3) non-profit corporation whose mission is to help feed the hungry. The name in no way implies that only lawyers can contribute to the event. In fact, many local businesses are already sending checks to purchase turkeys for the needy. The turkeys and accompanying Thanksgiving fixings will cost approximately $30 each. The hosts of the host sites have all agreed to kick start the fundraising off with a bang. Noble McIntyre is contributing $5,000 on behalf of Oklahoma County, David Bernstein is contributing $5,000 on behalf of Cleveland County and the Michael Denton and Nathan Richter have contributed $1000 each with the Handley Law Center contributing an additional $1000, for a combined $3000 start for Canadian County.

This year the Oklahoma City, Norman, and El Reno sites will follow the Tulsa lead of last year and in addition to a turkey, give a complete meal to each hungry family in need. Each recipient will receive a food box containing 1 Canned Ham, 1 Cranberry Sauce, 1 Stuffing Mix, 1 Macaroni & Cheese (7.25 oz), 2 Carrots, 2 Canned Yams, 2 Green Beans, 2 Corn, 2 Mashed Potatoes and 2 Turkey Gravy. These additional items will make for a terrific Thanksgiving meal for the families who need them.
