Tulsa, OK (May 1, 2019) – Around 4 a.m. on Tuesday, April 30, police received a report of an individual who was struck by a motor vehicle near 21st Street and Sheridan.
Two individuals spotted the bicyclist lying in the middle of the road and stopped to provide assistance until police and emergency crews arrived.
Officers investigating the scene of the incident found a victim at the scene who had been struck by a vehicle traveling south along the roadway. The driver struck the individual on a bike and fled the scene of the incident.
Our thoughts are with the bicyclist who was injured in this incident.
Over 200 bicyclists are injured by motor vehicles annually across our state. Bicyclists are more susceptible to sustaining serious and life-altering injuries, like broken bones and spinal cord injuries.
Victims who are injured in these horrific incidents are often left to deal with overwhelming pain and suffering and stacking medical bills. Those harmed are often forced out of work for several weeks to tend to their injuries. In many cases, bicyclists are injured by drivers who are negligent while behind the wheel. Thankfully, those harmed can contact an Oklahoma car accident attorney to get justice and restitution for their injuries.
